A small piece of wood can also be used between the hammer and the exhaust tip edge. This is done from under the rear of the car. Small medium taps will start the factory tip sliding off the actual exhaust pipe. Secure the tip before it comes off the end of the pipe with your hand. Make sure to keep it straight to not damage the inner spring clips. The cutouts must be facing straight up. Slide the BMS slip-on exhaust tip straight over the factory exhaust pipe. Carefully push the tip straight on until it stops. The tips should completely hide the pipe edge. There should be no gaps. You may want to cover the edge of the tip with a folded towel and lightly pound with a rubber mallet.
